These short-term goals can be likened to pointers or road signs that will always remind you that you are still on the right track. It is also important that these short-term goals be achievable. You should also allow your company a reasonable time from for the achievement of these goals. If you failed to achieve these goals, reevaluation of the whole strategy should be performed. Doing so would enable you to identify where things didn't work out so you'd know what to do next.
