Somebody Needs To Write A Book On A Mother Guide To Sanity

By Matthew Murray

There are a lot of challenges when you decide to become a parent. Whether you are a single mother ready to do it by yourself, or a wife in a marriage, nothing can get you ready for the road ahead. It would be nice if somebody wrote a book or held classes for a mother guide to sanity. The only sure thing that comes from being a parent is that your child holds many unforeseen adventures that will be discovered in time. Until then, a mom needs to realize that things are going to happen that will make you want to scream and cry at the same time.

One of the first challenges a mom often faces is the fact that the career path that she chooses is going to be put on the back burner for at least a couple of months. Many times, mom will have to go back to work as soon as possible to keep a stable home. They often want to stay with the child for the first few years of the childs life, but most of the time it is not possible.

If the mom decides to go back to work after the first few months, many obstacles will have to be cleared. First of all, if their bodies are not ready to go back to a work life, the doctor will suggest on the mother staying home to recover just a little bit longer. When it is time to go back, affordable, and dependable child care is necessary. It is often harder to find someone to watch over a younger child than it is a toddler.

Once the child is old enough for preschool, usually around four years of age, another group of challenges will arise. Many new moms will cry the first time the toddler spends a day away from her. This is because the mom feels alone and that the child is growing up too fast.

When the child becomes a teenager, the challenges can get even harder to deal with. Hormonal imbalances, school work and peer pressures make the teen a little time bomb ready to explode. Having activities to keep their minds off these pressures and can, in turn, keep the parents mind at ease.

The more the teen is active with others their age doing productive activities, the lower the chances of them doing something that will damage their education and future lives. Sports and clubs often help with keeping the teens head engaged in what is important. Any school activities are also helpful in teaching them how to make decisions that are right for them.

After the teen graduates from high school, the next big decision is when and where to go to college. This can be a hard time for both the parents and the child but the more they are informed, the easier time they will have to choose the right college. When they go to college, the parents will often experience what is known as empty nest syndrome.

After college, the life of the child is their own. In a perfect world, they will pursue a career that they have been trained for. It is not unusual for them to move back home with mom and dad while they find their way through life and raise a family of their own
