How To Get NYC Violations Removal Done

By Karina Frost

This is time that the winter is finally coming to an end and all the snow is now melting away. Many people might have gotten sidewalk violation tickets from the New York City transportation department and it is now time to deal with them. There are various steps that people handling NYC violations removal need to follow to make sure they are well represented in this process.

The first thing to do before beginning the whole process is, looking for a contractor who is licensed and has adequate experienced so that they can examine the sidewalk. They will help to determine the amount of work that is to be done so that the violations are removed from the sidewalk at hand. If one received a PIR from the government, they are required to show them that document before hiring them.

If the foot-way being dealt with has a tree on it, the procedure will also include the forestry division. This department assists in determining the way forward for the tree. This division does not however give the authorization for the cutting of the roots therefore if this is essential, an expert arborist can be called to help.

The contractor who has been hired to do this job should first make sure he finds all the permits which will make their works on the sidewalks legal. The owner of the land is also allowed to get the permits themselves. If there is a curb involved then this may be a different case therefore a different license will be required. Separate assessment is also required in this type of a situation.

There are certain sidewalks that are labeled as designated landmarks. For these types of cases, a landmark property approval license is needed aside from all the other required licenses. The landmark preservation organization is the body that is authorized to approve all these applications. They make a requirement that people must include the picture and also the map of the area that is being worked on.

After all the requirements have been acquired, the next thing to be done by the contractor is begin the repair project. After all this has been done, the sidewalk should be free of any risks of tripping or falling and it must also look better that it was before the project. After everything is properly done, there are some documents that can be presented to the relevant authorities to prove the corrections and have the violations removed.

In the whole of this process, people are advised to only hire the professional sidewalk managers to review their situation and come up with the best course of action to be taken. If this is done then the costs of the repair will be reduced because the professionals know about the cheaper criteria that can be applied.

A sidewalk manager is a person who is able to review a place and determine if it has any trip and fall hazards that need to be rectified. They also understand all the proper measures that can be taken to correct any problems that are detected.
